The Trapps

Ike’s First Birthday is tomorrow, but we had a party for him this past Saturday with a Luau theme. Although mommy and daddy were their typical procrastinator selves and were still preparing things for the party well after the first guests arrived, everything turned out well and Ike had a great time. Here are all of our photos from the party.

Aside from his little choking episode (he had unlimited access to animal crackers for a short time and tried to pretend he was Noah’s Arc by putting two of every animal in his mouth…. fortunately grandma saved the day), Isaac had a great time at his party. He especially liked playing with all of the kids and, as usual, generally loved all of the attention.

The whole cake thing didn’t go over real well. I guess we’ve spent so much time drilling “don’t put your hands in your food” into him that he was afraid we were setting him up for a trap by urging him to put his hands into the cake. We eventually pretty much set him in the cake.

Isaac really appreciated all of the gifts he received. Sunday morning was like Christmas morning all over again, but better. Now that he is a little bit older, he played with his gifts quite a bit more.
