Look ma, my hand is in my mouth!

Life is exciting!  Ike has finally figured out how to get his hand into his mouth.  He's been doing this for a week or so now, but it is still pretty funny each time.  The process goes kind of like this: a) Stick out tongue; b) Begin to move hand (typically right hand) into line of sight; c) After recognition of hand, move hand in a non-linear path toward mouth; d) Lick middle three fingers; e) Suck on hand for a few moments; f) Lose track of hand; g) Repeat.

He's also doing some other pretty cool things.  He has been becoming increasingly vocal in the last couple of weeks.  He makes some pretty cute sounds and then occasionally throws in a random squelch that seems to come out of nowhere and usually scares him a bit.  It's pretty amazing.  You can truly tell that he is attempting to speak, but just can't seem to force the sounds out of his mouth that he hears in his head.

He still poops a lot.  But sometimes when he craps loudly, he looks around with this guilty look on his face. Again, pretty darn funny and, of course, pretty cute.  Diaper changing has been, surprisingly, usually enjoyable.  Ike seems to really appreciate having his diaper off, so he is almost always happy when we change him.  He giggles and squirms and is generally a whole lot of fun to play with while being changed.  I would have to say that this has likely been the most surprising thing I have encountered.  I was truly dreading the diaper changing, but here I am enjoying it.  Craziness!

What else have we been up to ... We went to the new Belleville winery over the weekend.  Ike has now been on a brewery tour (Schlafly Bottleworks), has helped homebrew twice, and has been to a winery.  We have been going on walks pretty often and usually stop by the Ground Floor, get a couple of drinks, sit outside and people watch.  Crystal and I went to the baseball game Saturday night and left Ike with Grandma Trapp for the second time.  Aside from a little screaming fit, Ike mostly behaved.

Right now Ike is sitting on his mommy's lap, facing out, but arching his back and looking up at her.  Pretty cute.
